Roadmap Preview: GeraWitness v0 to v1 — Phases, Milestones, Open Questions
Published 21 April 2026 · 4 min read
Quick answer. Three phases: v0.1 (risk-tier rule engine + Tier 2 review on 2 verticals, Q2 2027), v0.5 (Tier 2 across all Gera verticals + reviewer association, late 2027), v1.0 (open protocol + third-party review providers + regulator integration, 2028). Dates are targets. Open questions per phase.
Phase v0.1 — tiers and first review (Q2 2027)
- Published risk-tier rule engine (open-source, versioned).
- Credentialed reviewer pool launched, starting with health and high-value finance specialties.
- Tier 2 synchronous review for GeraClinic high-value + cross-border actions and GeraCash transactions above configurable thresholds.
- Signed review decisions appended to GeraNexus receipt chains.
Open question: reviewer onboarding speed. Training is 80 hours; we need credentialed pool size to grow faster than Tier 2 demand.
Phase v0.5 — breadth and workforce structure (late 2027)
- Tier 2 review available across all Gera verticals.
- Published reviewer welfare standards, union-friendly engagement.
- Dual-review sampling dashboards public.
- Appeal process SLA: 48h response, 7d resolution.
- Jurisdictional coverage: UK, EU, India, GCC, East Africa.
Open question: unit economics. Tier 2 review cost vs transaction margin is tight on low-value sensitive verticals. Subsidy policy being worked out.
Phase v1.0 — open protocol and regulator interop (2028)
- Third-party review providers can onboard to the protocol (not Gera-exclusive).
- Reviewer credentials portable across providers.
- Regulator integration: published review-rate dashboards accepted as compliance evidence by at least one regulator.
- v1.0 spec freeze with 2-year stability commitment.
Open question: regulatory acceptance of the signed- decision format. Early conversations are positive; codification is slow.
What we will not do in v1
- AI-only Tier 2 review. Ever.
- Sold-priority review lanes for marketplaces.
- Reviewer contracts without welfare provisions.
